The grain size of 2 – 6 mm promotes good water flow through the substrate, creating optimal conditions for the settlement of beneficial bacteria colonies. Plant roots find sufficient support and can develop well. Thanks to the gently rounded gravel grains, this substrate is also suitable for bottom-dwelling species such as Corydoras and loaches.

The gravel is CO₂-resistant, neutral to water and does not affect water values – an important prerequisite for a stable ecosystem in the aquarium. As this gravel is a natural product, it does not contain any harmful substances. Although it is pre-washed, additional rinsing is recommended before placing it in the aquarium.
